David T. Hansen

President, Fertility & Genomics at CooperSurgical Inc. and Managing Director, Origio

Degree in Economics, Politics and Social Science from Roskilde University, Denmark; MBA from California State University, East Bay, USA, and from IMADEC, Austria. Born 1967. Joined ORIGIO in May 2015 as President & Managing Director. 20 years of global experience in various managerial positions within the Biopharm, ITC and Medtech industries, and within Capital Markets. Following a career at a hedge fund, he was CEO of Copenhagen Bankers and co-founded NetDania.com. Mr. Hansen worked for Novo Nordisk, the global leader in diabetes care, from 1995-2008 in General Management, Finance and Business Development roles in Central & East Europe, and as Managing Director, Novo Nordisk Scandinavia AB (2003-2008). In 2008 he joined Taconic Biosciences Inc. as President & Officer, General Manager of the Research Models & Solutions Division.

Alan T Tucker

Chief Financial Officer

Alan joined CooperSurgical in July 2001 as their Controller; within three years he was promoted to Vice President of Finance. Alan was named CFO in January 2014, and today is responsible for managing all of CooperSurgical’s finance and accounting activities globally and performs a critical role in M&A activities. Alan spent the majority of his career at Philips Medical Systems, taking on many roles including everything from Senior Accountant to their Director of Finance. He received both his undergraduate degree and MBA from Sacred Heart University.

Susanne Hauschildt Bendz

CSO, EVP Innovation and Regulatory

Ph.D. in biology (immunology) from University of Copenhagen. Born 1958. Appointed Executive Vice President August 2004. Previous experience includes Research Assistant, and Clinical Research Director at ALK-Abelló A/S (a leading allergy vaccine company) and later in Coloplast A/S in Wound Care Management Group and Corporate responsible for clinical development (the largest Danish Medical device company).

Marie-Louise Haxthausen

Vice President, Global Marketing

Degree in Business Administration and Strategic Marketing from Copenhagen Business School. Born in Brazil in 1961. Joined ORIGIO a/s January 2015 after 20+ years experience in Sales and Global Marketing. Previously Senior Marketing Director in Pfizer Consumer Health with strong focus on driving global brands and optimizing marketing platforms. Key experience within Life Science and Medical Device products with experience from Ferrosan A/S (Vitamins and Supplements), Coloplast A/S (Wound Care), and Brüel & Kjær (Ultrasound Equipment).

Ulrik Høgh Sørensen

Vice President, Scientific Instruments, Services & Diagnostics

MSc in Chemical Engineering from the Technical University of Denmark with specialization in process/technical chemistry. Born 1971. Joined ORIGIO a/s in October 2015 as Vice President. More than 17 years of experience from process, pharma and biotechnology industries, including 9 years (2006-2015) in an international Life Science Group, Taconic Biosciences, most recently as Vice President of Scientific Operation & Services.

Charles Smith

Vice President, Global Lab Operations

Ph.D. in Biochemistry from the National Institutes of Health and University of Maryland, with specialization in structural virology. Born 1978. Joined Cooper Surgical in 2010. Previously 6  years as Director of ORIGIO Media Operations and Director of Operations for SAGE IVF. Former experience includes Technology Transfer, Science Policy and Career Development roles at The National Institutes of Health in the United States.

Tony Gordon

Vice President of Business Development

Ph.D in molecular biology from Nottingham University and 20 years as Clinical (state registered) Cytogeneticist. Fellow of the Royal Society of Biology. Born 1968. After post-doctoral positions at the Institute of Cancer research and subsequent scientific-commercial positions 2001-2006, followed with positions as Director of PGS at BlueGnome (2006-2012) and Managing Director of Genesis Genetics (2013-2016). Joined Cooper Genomics as Vice President of Business Development as part of the acquisition of Genesis Genetics in 2016.

Lau Diderichsen

Vice President APAC

Degree in Agricultural Science, attended several programs at INSEAD in Europe and Asia. Born 1961. Joined ORIGIO in July 2015 as Acting General Manager of Origio China and later as Vice President APAC.
30 years of international experience in management positions within the Bioscience, Food, Marine and Packaging industries. Previously with Foss A/S in Denmark as Vice President EMEA and APAC.
Spent substantial time in Asia over the past 30 years including stationed in Singapore for 12 years.

Esben Bruun Mortensen

Vice President Business Development (Women’s Health)

Bsc in Biology from KDAS, Degree in Business Strategy Generation and Implementation from London Business School, Program for Executive Development (PED) at IMD Business School. Born 1956. Joined Origio in 2015 as Head of International Business Development WH. Bring along more than 25 years’ experience from International Business Management in the pharmaceutical market and in innovative Start Up companies including 6 years (2007 to 2012) as Director UK/Ire for Novo Nordisk and 2 years (2014 – 2015) as CEO for an early drug discovery company.

Kristofer Karlsson

Vice President EMEA & Commercial Development

M.Sc. in Industrial Engineering and Management Science from Linkoping Technical University in Sweden. Born 1974. Joined ORIGIO in December 2015 as Director, Global Commercial Development. More than 15 years experience in managerial roles within Fast Moving Consumer Products, MedTech and Pharma at Novartis, ALCON and SCA Hygiene Products. Following the start of his career in consumer marketing, Mr. Karlsson joined Novartis eye-care division CIBA VISION in 2005 as Marketing Director. During his 10 years at the company he held roles of increasing responsibility such as Business Unit Managers for two different divisions and General Manager/Managing Director for Alcon Nordic.
